Spica Control System - SCS

Spica Technology now offers a complete control system for all types and sizes of wind turbines. Based on our long experience with wind turbines we have developed a ‘software tool box’ that simplifies and speed up the implementation of a very complex control system to any type of wind turbine.

The software is made by several building blocks build together to form the complete control system (a bit like Lego brigs). This makes adaption and future updates quite simple, since only the affected software module(s) needs to be updated or replaced. New modules/functions can be added without interfering in other functions.
All software modules from Spica are written in ‘plain C’ and follow the ‘Spica code standard’.

The control software is build around some ‘basic’ blocks where the fundamental functions are taking place. Basic software modules include the state handler, data and alarm handler, file system (CF-card) among other thing. The more type specific building block (e.g. converter control or pitch control) is added to the basic modules (shown below), to form the complete control system.
